Organizing!!!

 I committed myself to organizing in January.  Then I decided to start right now, organizing my business, by blog, my house etc...  As a self diagnosed procrastinator, I know the importance of getting going as fast as I can.  The longer I think about what needs to be done, the less that gets done!  So you may notice a few changes to the blog, although more are coming like a new logo.  Soon I will also be adding new pages like, session info, pricing and about me!  In the mean time, here are some random pictures to share with you.  Hope you had a nice Holiday and are gearing up for a fantastic New Year!

Family Fun

I love this family.  No, I am not biased.  It has nothing to do with the fact that Kristin and I have been best friends since 6th grade!!!  They are fun, and full of life.  That is why I love them.  Oh and they are so easy to photograph, what awesome kids!

Snow!

Wow, time has really gotten away from me.  I have been so busy lately and have so many images to share with you.  I love everything about winter.  I love snow, hot chocolate, brisk weather, snuggling by the fire, baking cookies and so many more very special Holiday traditions.  My three kids...well they love to play outside in 10 degree weather for hours at a time.  Somewhere deep down I know I used to feel the same way, but now I prefer to play for about 10 minutes and then watch from inside!  Here are a few pics of my two girls outside enjoying the falling temperatures.

I did this shoot with Miss A, my middle child a month or so ago!  She was her typical self...full of all kinds of things.  Spunk, sass and lots of sweetness.  She melts my heart...

Beautiful Family Shoot

I had to share a few pictures from a great family session I did last week.  They were so awesome to work with, which is no small feat having 4 boys, 6 and under!  But the photos speak for themselves!  Thanks R family for such a fun shoot!

A shout out to Moms...

As I was proofing a few sessions today I came across these 2 Mommy/Daughter shots.  They are so sweet and really moved me.  Both show a special moment that isn't staged, just shared.  I often regret not remembering to take more pictures with my three babies {well not really babies anymore at 8, 7 and 5}, and vow to do a  better job of that!  I hope in your lives you remember to step out from behind the camera and get a few pics with your cuties.  Lets face it, they don't care if you've showered, combed your hair or remembered to get dressed.  They will someday just want to see those special moments shared between you both and documented by the click of a camera.

My First Blog Post

I am so excited to share the beautiful photos from Katy Mae Photography.  I have wanted to start a photography business for a long time, but could never quite get it all together.  Now I feel like the stars have aligned and it's the perfect time to start a new adventure.  I hope you love my work as much as I love creating these amazing images.
